About the event
This Introductory dry needling and segmental needling course meets the standards required for professional indemnity insurance and includes all national APA and ASAP regulations and guidelines. Please be aware that some other courses do not have sufficient contact hours or training in safety standards to meet the requirements for professional indemnity insurance.
The Theory:
The theoretical content in our introductory course is designed to give therapists a solid understanding of the neurophysiological principles that lie behind the effectiveness of segmental needling (western acupuncture) and dry needling in the clinical setting. The latest advances in segmental needling research have led to the development of the concept of the ‘Layering Technique’. This technique offers a sound, clinically reasoned-based approach for therapists to effectively modulate pain and sensory-motor responses in their patient populations. It addresses local effects, spinally mediated effects, central nervous system effects, sympathetic system reactions and stimulation of the immune system.
