I first met Trevor Montgomery in 2005 whilst in rehabilitation from lower back surgery. At the time I was receiving treatment from one of NZ’s most respected Physiotherapists and although my prognosis was good, progress was not as rapid as I wanted.
Unfortunately, I required a 2nd lower back surgery and my chances of continuing my professional golf career looked quite slim.
A few months later I reconnected with Trevor and discussed the likelihood of playing competitive golf again. Not only was he confident of a healthy recovery he mapped out a clear path of treatment and education to assist me with my process.
As a professional sportsman I push my body pretty hard both in training and in competition. Combined with a hectic travelling schedule I inevitably incur aches and pains. Trevor’s ability to identify the causes and treat the route issue for any injury is his major strength. His thorough knowledge of the body and it’s mechanics in motion enables him to look away from the symptoms to treat injuries previously resistant to treatment. He thrives on the challenge of improving the physical health of his patients especially the people that have suffered from recurring problems.
His vast array of treatment methods (both traditional and alternative) ensures he can stay flexible with his therapy and adjust to what each individual patient presents.
Trevor is very dedicated to being an expert in the area of Golf Bio-Mechanics and his continued education is testament to this commitment. I believe his skills and teachings in this area are among the highest level within New Zealand and are very well respected internationally.
His distinguished qualifications speak for themselves. He currently works with numerous professional and elite sportspeople identifying areas within their bodies and techniques that will help increase performance. However, he also takes great pride in assisting the weekend golfer to play pain free and enjoy their quality of life.
It is a pleasure to have Trevor as a valued member of my team and as a close friend. I wish Trev his wife Nikki and their young family every success in business and in life.
